Our founder, Mackendy Casimir

Casimir Mackendy, born on May 11, 1997, in Haiti, is a musician, educator, and visionary leader dedicated to transforming Haitian youth through structured musical education.

He began his formal training in classical music at Holy Trinity Music School in Port-au-Prince, where he developed strong foundations in music theory, percussion, and disciplined performance. His classical background shaped his understanding of excellence, structure, and the power of organized musical instruction and taking lesson with National and international professor and mentor like,Dr John Wooton ,Dr Mel Mobley,Dr Greg Riss, and certified as rudimental drummer by NARD(USA).

Seeking broader musical exposure, Mackendy participated in programs with the YMOCA in the Dominican Republic, where he engaged in international cultural exchange and expanded his perspective on music as a unifying force across borders.

Driven by a deep commitment to Haiti’s cultural and social development, Casimir Mackendy founded the Rudimental Drumming Foundation of Haiti with a clear mission: to empower young people through discipline, leadership, and world-class percussion training. He envisioned an institution that blends Haiti’s rich rhythmic heritage with structured rudimental techniques, creating opportunities for youth to grow not only as musicians but as leaders.

Under his leadership, the foundation promotes:

Structured percussion education

Youth mentorship and character development

Cultural preservation through rhythmic innovation

Community engagement and national pride

Mackendy believes that rhythm can build more than musicians — it can build confidence, unity, and national strength. Through his work, he seeks to position Haiti as a rising force in marching percussion while giving young Haitians the tools to succeed both artistically and personally.

As Founder, Casimir Mackendy represents a new generation of Haitian cultural leadership — rooted in tradition, committed to excellence, and dedicated to nation-building through music.
