Casimir Mackendy, born on May 11, 1997, in Haiti, is a musician, educator, and visionary leader dedicated to transforming Haitian youth through structured musical education.
He began his formal training in classical music at Holy Trinity Music School in Port-au-Prince, where he developed strong foundations in music theory, percussion, and disciplined performance. His classical background shaped his understanding of excellence, structure, and the power of organized musical instruction.
Seeking broader musical exposure, Mackendy participated in programs with EMH in the North Cap-Haïtian,the YMOCA in the Dominican Republic, where he engaged in international cultural exchange and expanded his perspective on music as a unifying force across borders.
Driven by a deep commitment to Haiti’s cultural and social development, Casimir Mackendy founded the Rudimental Drumming Foundation of Haiti with a clear mission: to empower young people through discipline, leadership, and world-class percussion training. He envisioned an institution that blends Haiti’s rich rhythmic heritage with structured rudimental techniques, creating opportunities for youth to grow not only as musicians but as leaders.
Under his leadership, the foundation promotes:
Structured percussion education througouth the whole Haïti
Youth mentorship and character development
Cultural preservation through rhythmic innovation
Community engagement and national pride
Mackendy believes that rhythm can build more than musicians — it can build confidence, unity, and national strength. Through his work, he seeks to position Haiti as a rising force in marching percussion while giving young Haitians the tools to succeed both artistically and personally.
As Founder, Casimir Mackendy represents a new generation of Haitian cultural leadership, rooted in tradition, committed to excellence, and dedicated to nation-building through music.

I founded the Rudimental Drumming Foundation of Haiti because I believe rhythm can rebuild a nation.
In Haiti, the drum has always been more than an instrument. It is communication. It is resistance. It is spirituality. It is identity. From ceremonial grounds to carnival streets, rhythm has carried our history when nothing else could.
Yet our youth deserve more than tradition alone , they deserve structure, excellence, and opportunity.
Rudimental drumming teaches discipline. It demands precision. It requires unity. A drumline does not move forward unless every member listens, commits, and performs together. In that way, a drumline mirrors the nation we aspire to become.
This foundation was created to harness the power of rhythm as a tool for transformation:
To give young people a safe and structured environment.
To cultivate leadership through teamwork.
To merge Haiti’s ancestral rhythms with world-class marching percussion.
To create pathways to education, careers, and international recognition.
We are not simply building drummers.
We are building character.
We are building confidence.
We are building ambassadors for Haiti.
I envision the day when Haitian drumlines stand proudly on international stages , disciplined, innovative, and unmistakably Haitian. I envision communities united by sound rather than divided by struggle. I envision youth discovering purpose through practice, excellence through repetition, and pride through performance.
The drum has always been the heartbeat of Haiti.
This foundation ensures that heartbeat grows stronger, louder, and more unified for generations to come.
This is more than music.
This is movement.
This is nation-building through rhythm.
